Discover a natural cure for snoring.

Possibly your partner has told you that you snore, or possibly your neighbour in the apartment next door is banging on your walls at night. You might even be afraid to have a loving relationship because you know that you snore a lot.

The causes of snoring:

The upper airway becomes blocked-up with tissue when your throat muscles relax in sleep. There are several sorts of a natural cure for snoring. These treatments are non-invasive and are not painful.

One word of caution:

If you snore extremely loudly, or if your partner tells you that you breathing stops when you sleep, contact your doctor right away.

1. Natural Cure for Snoring: Change positions.

Well over 60% of snorers snore only when they sleep on their backs. So
try sleeping on your side or on your tummy. This could be all it takes to stop your snoring and solve the problem.

2. Natural Cure for Snoring: An Anti-Snoring Pillow.

Most anti-snoring pillows give additional support to your spine and jaw to keep your airway open while you sleep. A further type of pillow or cushion is placed around your neck to keep your head clear of your chest. Yet another type of anti-snoring pillow is placed below your back to help you to sleep on your side.

Even if you don't want to try an anti-snoring pillow, you could take a few minutes to assess your old pillow. It may very well be time to buy a replacement, since old pillows collect pollen and dust and may worsen your allergies while you sleep, which may lead to increased snoring.

3. Natural Cure for Snoring: Losing Some Weight.

When you are overweight, your neck tends to be thick and to press in on the throat, causing your upper airway passages to narrow. Losing weight may release the pressure on those passages and reduce or eliminate snoring.

4. Natural Cure for Snoring: Strengthen the Muscles in Your Jaw and Throat.

When you are asleep, the muscles in your jaw and throat relax and allow tissue to partially block the upper airway. There are simple exercises you can do to help strengthen e these muscles. Singing is an excellent exercise for toning the muscles in the throat. So is opening and closing your mouth slowly as if you are yawning. If you're having a bad day, the tongue thrust--sticking out your tongue like an angry kid--may help ease your stress. Other exercises include holding a pencil between your teeth for a few minutes, gently pressing your tongue against your lower teeth, and pressing your finger against your chin.

5. Natural Cure for Snoring: Herbal Remedies.

SnorEase is an herbal remedy said to decrease snoring by stopping histamines and reducing mucus. Goldenrod and Goldenseal have also been used effective in helping to reduce or stopping snoring. You could also try a throat spray such as SnoreLess, available through Nutrition for Life.
